One question: Obviously there are things going on with Dee physically, emotionally and mentally, but I found it a little odd that her English was so poor, but Maria & her Grandmother's English was pretty flawless in this section. Dee doesn't have to speak like a Latina bimbo to Dee, but she did here. So is what the grandmother is doing, also affecting that?

Clearly Dee is undergoing more feminisation at the hands of the grandmother despite already looking very passable after what his ex girlfriend did to him. The ointment she gave him probably contains estrogen to replace the pills he stopped taking.. I can sympathise with those that want more sex as the story has stagnated a bit lately.

They are speaking Spanish. Dee's accent is good, but her Spanish is only passable, so she often sounds uneducated and unintelligent. The family has explained this by saying she was from a poor village and never graduated high school.

I could be wrong but I believe this part of the story in Mexico is supposed to be them all speaking spanish but for obvious reasons it's still an english language comic. So Dee, who is a spanish language novice, comes across as very inarticulate and bimbo-esque. If you look at Dee's thought bubbles, she has proper articulation because she's thinking in her native language.

I think you are spot on. That is how I interpreted it too.

Still do not love the bimbo aspect but that is their style and it is still fairly well done.
 
Hi! I was revisiting old chapters of A Latina In Need, and I noticed this dialogue that foreshadowed Nick's future as Daphne. I think LilTkit is putting a lot of work into this story, from a narrative standpoint, to make it stand out from other comics. What do you think of this story compared to the rest?
